Aromatherapy Tip
DID YOU KNOW?
According to Author Jean Valnet there are 5 pathogenic organisms 1 cubic meter of the Forest of Fontainbleu
and 20.000 in a Paris flat. Now, here’s the scary part…
How many pathogenic organisms does a square meter of carpet have?
a) 500.000
b) 2 million
c) 9 million
That’s right, you guessed it! A carpet has around 9 million microbes per square meter.
Another great factor is that essential oils have highly antiseptic, antiviral and antibacterial properties. Choose the scent of preference, I personally like Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Ravensara, Pine, Lemon, Bergamot, Lavender, sometimes Cinnamon, sometimes some Spruce.
Here’s an example of a yummy carpet blend. Feel free to be creative and use the oils you prefer.
baking soda ………………………………1 cup
eucalyptus essential oil ………………20 drops
ravensara essential oil ……………… 20 drops
bergamot essential oil ………………. 40 drops
tea tree essential oil ………………… 30 drops
Put baking soda in a widemouthed glass jar, add the oils, one by one and shake it very well. Tighten the cap. Let it rest for 24 hours so that the essential oils permeate the powder. Before vacuuming sprinkle over the carpet and leave it for 1 hour.
This recipe can cover up to 2000 square feet.
