After years of debating on whether or not we should do it, we finally decided to remodel our basement! We finally finished the walls, put a new floor in, added a living room, and we fulfilled our dream of having a bar inside the house.
Since there was going to be a lot of Sangria and Cosmos being consumed at the new bar, we realized we were going to have to put a bathroom in the basement. The only place left to do this was the room right next to the bar, and this got us thinking: If the bathroom was going to be directly next to the bar and living room, it would be most ideal to reduce, as much as possible, all odors that would be coming from the bathroom. So how could a household, like mine and everyone else’s, do that?
Now we all know of sprays that can be applied into the toilet bowl before going number 2. They are useful because they create a protective film above the water that will conceal any odors coming from the water. But what if you could have 1) a nice, natural, aromatic smelling spray and 2) one that you could make yourself.
I decided to be economic, and create my own Leave It Smelling Better Spray. One where I could use any of my signature blends to not only eliminate the smell, but also to leave the bathroom smelling better than when you walked in.
Here’s how you can make your Leave It Smelling Better Spray:
Spray the surface of the toilet bowl before you go number 2.
The Summer Blend is one that I also use when making my own liquid soap, so I already know that it will have strong citrus scents that will leave the bathroom smelling fantastic! Other Essential Blends will work as well, especially those with strong scented essential oils such as Claro, Memoria and Energia. These strong smells not only counteract ugly odors but also leave a long lasting, pleasing scent.
We don’t normally find words such as pleasant and toilet together in the same sentence, but with your DIY Leave It Smelling Better Spray, you and your guests won’t ever have to worry after doing the duty in the bathroom.
