essential-oils-for-skincare-after-sun-blog.fw
I hope you have all enjoyed this summer as much as I did, be it by going to the lake, walking around the park, or by simply sitting outside and catching some rays of sunlight. I know that I certainly indulged in the sun this summer (and yes maybe I did over-indulge), by going out to the lake or waiting in line at the food truck park.

I tried my best to protect my skin this summer via sunscreen, but with this summer being one of the hottest summers in history, I could feel my skin crying for help in the sizzling sun.

Exposing yourself to the sun for too long comes with some risks to our health and appearance. Excessive exposure can lead to uneven complexion, blotchy skin, wrinkles, and irritated skin, all of which ages your skin. Every minute that you spend outside accumulates damage to the skin over time and deteriorates your health.

With the end of summer quickly approaching and less exposure to the sun, now is the best time to begin repairing your summer skin. It’s time to give our skin some tender love and care, the natural way.

The essential oils listed here are ideal for skin care since they heal, vitalize the tissue, stimulate the renewal of cells, cleanse and rejuvenate the skin.

Here’s a guide to repairing your skin:

Aug 10 2011 Thank you all for showing interest in the article on Helichrysum or ‘Everlasting Oil’ that I posted a few days ago. Many readers have mailed in saying that they would like to start using this oil but do not know how to go about it. Here, I have compiled some easy-to-use aromatherapy recipes and solutions that will let you reap all the positive benefits of this amazing oil on an everyday basis.

Uses of Undiluted Helichrysum Oil

For hematomas: Helichrysum is known for its ability to dissolve blood clots and promote healing of surrounding tissues. Apply this oil neat (undiluted) over the affected area every day. For cuts and burns: Helichrysum possesses anti-inflammatory and tissue-regenerating properties. Apply a couple of drops neat on the affected area to soothe the irritated skin and aid healing.

Uses of Diluted Helichrysum Oil

You can make your own Everlasting Oil blend by adding 10 drops of Helichrysum to 1 oz of any carrier oil such as Jojoba.  This blend is useful for treating many common ailments. For headaches: Rub a few drops of the blend between your fingertips and massage your temples and back of the neck with it. For asthma and bronchitis: Massage some of the blended oil onto your chest. For irritable bowels: Massage your lower abdomen with the blend twice a day. For pain relief: Massage the blended oil into sore muscles and inflamed joints using circular motions. For skin care: With your fingertips, apply a few drops of the blended oil onto clean, dry skin. Use light pressure and slow press-and-release movements. The oil nourishes the skin and is very effective against wrinkles. For Anxiety and Depression: Before going to bed, apply the blended oil to your solar plexus, and allow all negative emotions to be released. Helychrisum oil can help heal deep psychological wounds and emotional scars. I hope you enjoy using this oil. Please let me know if you have any queries – I will be very happy to answer them!

If you want to have a toned and healthy skin, you don’t have to pay big sums of money.  The combination of essential oils and facial massage has been used for centuries to increase beauty and health. By incorporating aromatherapy into your daily skin care routine, you can enjoy the natural health benefits of essential oils and see positive changes on your skin. Essential oils are known to enliven your complexion, relax your facial muscles, release toxins, improve circulation, tone  your skin, and reduce wrinkles.

Facial oils

Very useful to nourish and soothe the skin and, by sealing the skin, to retain moisture. Use Jojoba oil as your carrier, jojoba oil is actually a liquid wax that is quickly absorbed by your skin and it leaves no residue. Jojoba works both on dry or oily skin because of its ability to balance the sebum production of the body.

Morning Moisturizers

Use in the same way as you would your usual moisturizer.

1 oz Golden Jojoba Oil 3 drops Geranium Essential Oil 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil 5 drops Ylang ylang Essential Oil
