Dec 16 2014 how to avoid holiday stress
As much fun as it is to deck the halls and unwrap presents, the holiday season can also be incredibly stressful.  Between finding time to bake gooey goodies, buying budget-friendly gifts, and entertaining countless family members, it’s no wonder you’re feeling frazzled!

Luckily, though, the right aromatherapy regimen can get you through it.  Here’s what I recommend doing to eliminate all of that holiday stress:

1.  Breathe

A little bit of fresh air can go a long way — especially when you combine it with the right essential oils!  Squeeze a drop of Eucalyptus radiata or Winter Blend (with Eucalyptus, Lavender and Grapefruit essential oils) onto your scarf, and head outside for a 10 minute walk.  As you breathe deeply, you’ll start to feel more positivity.  That’s because eucalyptus physically and emotionally opens up your chest, so you’ll get even more of that awesome fresh air than you would otherwise.  And, because eucalyptus is a proven mood-booster, it will quickly knock out your stress.  It’s a powerful 1-2 punch!

2.  Take a bath

Does anything feel better after a long, stressful, cold day than a warm bath?  No way!  But to get the most out of your bath, add 1/4 cup of Aromandina’s Andean Bath Soak to the water.  Made with mineral-rich pink Andean salts, soothing Epsom salt, and relaxing essential oils, you’ll be able to soak away all of the stress.  I like to call it “cleaning your heart”!

You can take this bath time indulgence a step further by choosing an Andean “flavor” that’s right for you.  For example, ALIVIO is great for soothing sore muscles, while EXULTO is especially uplifting.  SERENO is the perfect way to help us have a restful sleep, and RESPIRO can open up your sinuses as you fight off those pesky winter germs.  Or, if you want to turn bath time into couple’s time, opt for ROMANCE.  No matter which one you choose, all of your holiday stress will go right down the drain!

3.  Keep your energy level high

Sounds easier said than done, right?!  Luckily, though, having enough energy to survive the holidays is as easy as misting your face.  I created ALERTA body mist to be a pick-me-up that works in seconds.  No matter how busy you are this holiday season, you’ve got a few spare seconds!  ALERTA is made with peppermint, spearmint, cardamom, and rosemary, so it can stimulate both mind and body.  Personally, I use it all the time — like while I’m driving, cooking, and working.  That way, I have all the energy I need, without filling my body up with caffeine-laden coffee.

Want the same success? You can use all of the stress-busting products I use by shopping at Aromandina!

Stress bombards us on a daily basis.  Whether you’re stressed out over that big work project, something your kids did, or the mess in the kitchen, it’s a miserable way to live.  You wind up feeling exhausted, getting a headache, and even suffering tummy troubles.

Luckily, though, there’s an easy way to knock stress right out of your life — aromatherapy!

People are constantly asking me which essential oils are best at combating stress, and the truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all recipe that will combat every single type of stress you encounter during the day.  That’s why I came up with three different essential oil blends that can help you eliminate stress throughout the day — without making you feel groggy or foggy.

Here are 3 easy ways to incorporate stress-busting aromatherapy into your daily routine:

  1. –  Start your day with the ENERGIA blend.  Simply squeeze a drop onto the palm of your hand, rub your hands together, and breathe in this invigorating scent.  It’s made with rosemary, litsea cubeba, and pine — all of which will make you feel alert and focused.

  2. Give yourself a mid-day boost with the ALEGRIA blend.  The mixture of clary sage, ylang ylang, and litsea cubeba will calm you down and put a smile on your face — without the side effects that you get from sedatives.  I like to use this blend in either a burner or diffuser, but you can also squeeze a few drops into a tissue and breathe it in that way.

  3. Ease your way into the evening with the SLEEP TIME blend.  Made with Lavender, Marjoram, Mandarin, and Palo Santo, this blend will stop all of the racing your mind has been doing and leave you feeling calm, relaxed, and ready for a great night’s sleep.  I love to squeeze a couple of drops onto a tissue and place it under my pillow.  By morning, I feel incredibly refreshed!

–  If you really want to pamper yourself, I’ll mix 10 drops of SLEEP TIME with a cup of Epsom salts, mix it with a tub-full of warm water and soak in it.

–  If you don’t have time for a long, leisurely bath, squeeze four drops of SLEEP TIME onto a washcloth, close your eyes, and press it up against your chest while standing in a hot shower.  After a few deep breaths, you’ll be able to feel your stress going right down the drain!

It’s easy to bid bon voyage to stress… All you have to do is buy Aromandina’s De-Stress Aromatherapy Kit!  Or, buy it for a loved one and give the gift of relaxation!

Use the foot diagram below for foot rubbing tips you can use on yourself or your partner. For my husband, a foot rub acts as foot therapy that helps him relax and reduce stress illness after a hectic day at work. You can start by gently rubbing the base of your first (little) toe. Continue at the base of the second toe. Next, apply slight pressure between the first and second toes. Then, rub between the third and forth toe. Next, massage, stretch and pull the big toe gently and rub each side of the nails. Finally, massage the ball of your foot in a circular motion, followed by circling around your ankle joint with both hands in a clockwise motion. Foot massages can also improve the circulation and energy level of your body. Repeat the same steps on your other foot. You can do this feet massage in the evening a couple of times a week to give your tired feet a break. Use the foot chart to find the areas where you can perform your foot massages:
