Dec 16 2014 how to avoid holiday stress
As much fun as it is to deck the halls and unwrap presents, the holiday season can also be incredibly stressful.  Between finding time to bake gooey goodies, buying budget-friendly gifts, and entertaining countless family members, it’s no wonder you’re feeling frazzled!

Luckily, though, the right aromatherapy regimen can get you through it.  Here’s what I recommend doing to eliminate all of that holiday stress:

1.  Breathe

A little bit of fresh air can go a long way — especially when you combine it with the right essential oils!  Squeeze a drop of Eucalyptus radiata or Winter Blend (with Eucalyptus, Lavender and Grapefruit essential oils) onto your scarf, and head outside for a 10 minute walk.  As you breathe deeply, you’ll start to feel more positivity.  That’s because eucalyptus physically and emotionally opens up your chest, so you’ll get even more of that awesome fresh air than you would otherwise.  And, because eucalyptus is a proven mood-booster, it will quickly knock out your stress.  It’s a powerful 1-2 punch!

2.  Take a bath

Does anything feel better after a long, stressful, cold day than a warm bath?  No way!  But to get the most out of your bath, add 1/4 cup of Aromandina’s Andean Bath Soak to the water.  Made with mineral-rich pink Andean salts, soothing Epsom salt, and relaxing essential oils, you’ll be able to soak away all of the stress.  I like to call it “cleaning your heart”!

You can take this bath time indulgence a step further by choosing an Andean “flavor” that’s right for you.  For example, ALIVIO is great for soothing sore muscles, while EXULTO is especially uplifting.  SERENO is the perfect way to help us have a restful sleep, and RESPIRO can open up your sinuses as you fight off those pesky winter germs.  Or, if you want to turn bath time into couple’s time, opt for ROMANCE.  No matter which one you choose, all of your holiday stress will go right down the drain!

3.  Keep your energy level high

Sounds easier said than done, right?!  Luckily, though, having enough energy to survive the holidays is as easy as misting your face.  I created ALERTA body mist to be a pick-me-up that works in seconds.  No matter how busy you are this holiday season, you’ve got a few spare seconds!  ALERTA is made with peppermint, spearmint, cardamom, and rosemary, so it can stimulate both mind and body.  Personally, I use it all the time — like while I’m driving, cooking, and working.  That way, I have all the energy I need, without filling my body up with caffeine-laden coffee.

The Holidays are just around the corner. It is a time for family togetherness, joy, contemplation, letting go of the old and embracing the new. Although, spending time with family and friends, eating good food, drinking and giving gifts can be a wonderful experience, it is out of the normal routine and requires time, money and preparation. All of that is on top of the regular work, kids, school and extra-curricular activities that make up our day.
With all this stress staying healthy can also be a challenge. For some of us family may be far away, or we don’t have much family, or there has been a long standing schism with a family member. The Holiday Season tends to heighten all of those family issues we haven’t dealt with.  No doubt it can be a time of great joy and great stress.

Here are 4 Reasons to Use Aromatherapy this Holiday Season:

  1. To STAY HEALTHY
  2. To KEEP A JOYFUL THE HEART
  3. To RELIEVE ANXIETY AND HOLIDAY STRESS
  4. To OVERCOME THE HOLIDAY BLUES

WHAT ESSENTIAL OILS SHOULD I USE?

 For your health:

Ravensara and Eucalyptus essential oils:  Keep a bottle with you at all times. Just open, smell it and feel your sinuses open.

 For family gatherings:

Clary Sage and Geranium Essential Oils:  Release endorphins, the happy hormones, and make your family gatherings joyous and FUN. When your guests walk in the door they might not know why, but they will feel welcome, relaxed and joyous.

For whenever you feel anxious:

SERENO BODY MIST: Keep it with you and spray on your face whenever you feel the need. Palo Santo, Lavender and Mandarin will bring back a sense of calm and peace. Spray it on your pillow at night for a deep restoring sleep.

For the holiday blues

Here are some specific essential oils that will alleviate these Holiday Blues, the emotional challenges that often come with the Holiday Season.

ROSE – heals the heart of deep wounds, the flower of Love and compassion.

JASMINE – makes you feel beautiful, comfortable with who you are, it melts away anxieties and relaxes you.

BERGAMOT – like Rose, Bergamot helps to heal the heart, it also cleanses the mind when it is congested with thoughts that don’t allow you to grow.

PALO SANTO – helps reconnect with your higher sense of being while at the same time helps you think with a sharp, rational and analytic mind.

FRANKINCENSE – heals old wounds, deep forgiveness, relieves a tight chest and alleviates that feeling of being overwhelmed with worries and restlessness.

 AROMATHERAPY IN YOUR DAILY ROUTINE!

The holiday season is just around the corner and it’s time to catch up with family and friends. Parties are always something to look forward to but entertaining so many people at once can be daunting and even stressful at times. It is not the clothes, decorations or even the food that makes a party a hit – it is the atmosphere. A host cannot stop worrying about how the guests will get along with each other and whether they will have a good time at all. Luckily for you, we have a solution. Take a break from the holiday stress and create a pleasant, relaxing, comforting and jovial environment for all your guests with a little help from aromatherapy.

Clary Sage and Ylang Ylang, the key essential oils present in the  Alegria essential oil blend and EXULTO Alegria Body Mist help people shed their inhibitions and be themselves. While Clary Sage’s scent has a euphoric quality, Ylang Ylang works at eliminating negative emotions like jealously and envy. They blend perfectly with Litsea Cubeba, a sharp citrus scent that integrates these two flowers and provide emotional well-being.

The heartwarming aroma of this blend induces a friendly and positive atmosphere and you will find your guests more spirited, relaxed and outgoing. So the next time you are worried about awkward moments between a cousin and a colleague, you know what to turn to!

How to do it?

Pour a few drops of Alegria blend in an aromatherapy burner or simply spray the room and furniture with EXULTO Body Mist. Spare no space for stress when it’s time to party and have fun!
